Using an underscore in a SSID name
Hello,
I don't really know where to put this, but since my EX6200 is the most recent addition to my home network, I thought I would put this here.
I use the EX6200 in AP mode, and aside from my cell phone, the things hooked up to it are my Ring doorbell and a whole lot of "smart" outlets and light switches which are controlled by the Smart Life app.
Overall things are going well, but I have had more than a few "network error" notices. In exploring this issue, I came across a quick blurb that said something about NOT having an underscore in my SSID: thenewhouse_2GEXT.
I have done some research on this but can't seem to get a consensus, so I thought I would seek out some opinions before I go through the task of re-programming 15 items. :mantongue:
(My apologies if I have put this in the wrong place; please re-direct me if I have.)
Thanks for your thoughts.
Dave
You can have an underscore in an SSID name. Can you provide a link to the "blurb"?
You can of course try temporarily replacing the underscore (perhaps with a dash) and see if the symptoms change.

Stephen,
Thanks for your reply. I couldn't find the info about underscores. I think it is in one of the Smart Life instructions in the app, but their web-site is in Chinese, so their support is limited.
Some day when I have several hours, I will rename the SSID without the underscore and see if that changes things.
Thank you for taking the time to reply. :catvery-happy:
