Wifi problem with new iOS operating system (9.1)

We just updated our 2 iPad mini's and an iPhone 6 to iOs 9.1, and since then, we cannot connect to the wifi extender.  (We have the Netgear N300 Wifi Range Extender EX2700, purchased in April 2015).  It shows up as an available network, but every time we enter the password (which is absolutely correct), we get the message "Incorrect password for ournetwork_EXT" - even though I know we are putting the correct password in.  I tested my blackberry, and had no issues connecting to the extender with the same password, and since this has only been an issue for the Apple users in the household, I am thinking it has to be an issue between the new iOs and the extender.  We've tried resetting the devices, resetting the system settings, forgetting the network, and still no connection.  We can connect to the router, but that has always given us a weak signal, so we are really in a bind now.  Has anyone else had this issue and solved it?  My 5 y.o. is having a fit!  Thank you!

  • Hi MinNY,

Which router is connected to your extender? Are both your router and extender updated to latest firmware?

On both your router and extender, you can try setting your Security Option to None and see if you can connect the Apple devices. Then switch it to WPA2 and test.

See page 18 of 35 for a screenshot of the Wireless Settings menu

You can also try factory resetting the EX2700 -
Insert a paper clip into the Factory Reset hole and hold it until the Power LED blinks amber.

    Release the button.

All the LEDs turn off for about 3 seconds.

The Power LED lights solid amber for about 30 seconds

The Power LED lights solid green. The extender returns to its factory settings.

Thanks!  We have a Cisco router - Model EA4500.  I will try your suggestions - firmware definitely hasn't been updated - and report back.  Thank you for your response!

Thank you so much!  I upgraded the firmwear of the extender and that is all it took.  All our i-devices are connected again to the extender.  I appreciate your quick and helpful response.  Yay!!!  :)
