Wifi Signal Drops Consistantly with main router and 2 access point routers
Hi,
I have the following setup at home:
I have a main Netgear N300, router and have linked another Netgear N300 + a D-Link to extend my WiFi signal. I am using the same SSID and have done all the nice things like disable the DHCP assign static IP addresses for the AP's and exclude those addresses from being allocated elsewhere. I have each router on channels 1, 6, and 11 respectively, and all works ok, however the WiFi connection drops intermittently everyday and I am at the end of my tether trying to figure out why. I really do not want to use different SSID's as I use the access list security using mac addresses and would have to duplicate on all the routers then. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

- Retired_MemberPrior to using 5g AC intel AC 7260 I was able to move thru-out my property and home streaming a HD video ( for test only ) without any problems while roaming to 4 different AP's on 5g at 300 max rate using intel 6235.
While I can no longer roam using 5g AC I can today be connected to 1 AP and disable it and not loose a VPN to Corporate Comcast while it attaches to another AP. I believe it roamed to another AP?? - SotmoAspirantsearay, i have several devices connecting to the wifi network, laptops, PC's, blackberry's, Xbox, android phones and tablets and so on...when the wifi signal drops, all the devices loose connection. You get that yellow exclamation mark on the windows 7 machines, and whilst most the mobile devices are still "connected to the router" the internet connectivity is lost.
Looks like i am going to have to test with different SSID's
schumaku: Yes the idea is for all the devices to roam seamlessly by using the same SSID and security. are you saying that this method does not allow for constant connectivity to the wifi signal?
