WN200RPT Range Extender - Amber Status Light
I have a a WN2000RPT Range Extender which has been working fine until last night when I could not connect.
My wireless NIC saw the WN2000RPT but could not connect to it.
I unplugged the Extender and rebooted it but it would not power up properly.
Now, the Status Light stays at a steady Amber and I cannot establish any connection, even using a wired connection between my PC and the Extender.
I have trying reseting to factory defaults but nothing happens.
I tried powering down and then pressing and holding the reset button and powering up and this gets me past the Steady Amber Status Light but to a Green Flashing Status Light.
Does anyone have any tips or understanding of the problem? Anyone know what a Steady Amber Status Light means?
Thanks for any help that can be offered.

- wolvyreenNovicefunny how no-one has even bothered to respond to you. not even someone from support. :(
I'm sitting here with the exact same issue. Flashing green and factory reset does F@#kall!
I'm so pissed! I tried applying the latest firmware and it just never completed. I waited 2hours thinking I don't want to screw it up. But nope, after manually resetting it, it was a brick....
I'm off to buy a different brand now! I am now so pissed at NetGear for costing me money! - jmizoguchiVirtuosoftp://downloads.netgear.com/files/WN2000RPT/Documentation/UM/WN2000RPT_UM_8Dec10.pdf
Look through front panel definition page and follow with few pages after that has LED status , troubleshooting - dan10400AspirantThere is nothing in the manual that describes what a "Flashing Green Status Light" means. If I missed it, please provide a page number. I put this extender in front of my Netgear Prosafe SRXN3205 and the same thing. I do a hardware reset and the same thing. I try to connect to the device directly and I get the same thing.
Thanks for any help.

- dan10400AspirantThanks for the reply, but there is nothing in the manual that describes the condition of the "Extender Status" LED flashing green. And considering myself
and wolvyreen have that scenario, and are not able to connect to the device
(even after a factory reset) says it is not a normal condition. - SnowybuntingAspirantI'm having the exact same issue. The status light stays amber, which the guide says means the wireless connection is only "good", although I've moved it right next to the main router. I can't get it to reset to factory default, and can't connect via browser. The router sees the device, but it hasn't assigned it an ip address. It's basically a brick right now.
- dan10400AspirantAn amber status light is the title of the thread, but the issue evolved
into a flashing green status light (which is not documented as to the
meaning). - rinaldirNoviceExactly the same issue here..... before going to buy another product and never buy again a Netgear stuff in my life could I have an answer on what happened?
Thanks. - batasasInitiateSince Netgear does not even bother to reply here what worked for me:
Had same issue. yellow middle light, not possible to reset. I took my net gear extender smashed it few times in the table, then took a pen was randomly pushing reset button together with front eps button and then smashed again properly to the table. Bingo it got reseted. works again. already had this problem twise. never ever will buy net gear stuff...
