WN2500RP drops router / forces router offline

I am having very similar issues. What might have solved the problem is by going and ensuring that the extender (wn2500rp) has the most recent update, and even if it does redownloading/installing the update.
It can be done by plugging connecting a laptop via ethernet to the extender and going to www.mywifiext.net/start.
