WN3000RP v1h2 : impossible to see any wifi network

The wifi didn't worked well withmy repeter so I tried to re install it fdrom scratch.

I turn it off and then on, then I go to http://mywifiext.net/ and firstly I was able to connect.

I try to change the name of the wifi to have the same than my main wifi: "sylrider". Previously, it was called "sylrider-ext".

Unfortunately, while it was charging to finish the process, the page went off.

I try to do it again, but going on this page, I had the message:

"Oops!

It seems that you have navigated to this page by accident. If you are looking to connect to the user interface of your NETGEAR Powerline or WiFi Extender device, please connect to that device’s WiFi hotspot and try the URL again (http://mywifiext.net)."

I tried to began step by step and reset then connect to the wifi which should be named "NETGEAR_EXT" or something like that, but I don't see any network except my main one and the wifi signal still don't work when I am away, when it was working previously (even badly).

Could you please help?

Thanks.

Sylvain

    Hi sylrider,

If you are using a windows pc, please try to remove the old WiFi network profiles from your computer
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/create-modify-network-profiles#1TC=windows-7

    For Mac:
Go to System Preferences -> Network.
At the top of the Network pane select "Airport" from the "Show" drop down.
Select the network you want to "forget" and click the minus button at the bottom of the window.
Click "Apply" to confirm your selection when closing the window.

Please see page 27 of 32 to reset your extender to factory defaults:
    http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/WN3000RP/WN3000RP_UM_1Feb13.pdf

Please also note that changing the WiFi name of the extender to be the same as your router is not recommended for performance.

Apparently it worked after a while but I don't know exactly why or how.

      Thanks anyway for your help!

So it is working now, but apparently it's impossible to have the same Wifi name in order to keep the same wifi network everywhere in my house, so when I move from a room to another, I have to change wifi network everytime... ANy idea about that?
