WN3500RP not lighting up, can't configure
I have purchased this thing and when I plug it in, the power light goes green but no other lights come on. I have it mid way between the computer and the WiFi base station, in plain sight of both.
I purchased this device to extend WiFi range into the garden where we have a little cabin. I did some research here and on the net and it seemed to be the answer to my problem, and it said it was 'easy to setup'. Right.
I have an Apple Airport Extreme Base Station as my wireless router, connected to the net via a BigPond 2071-A modem. You can occasionally see the wifi network in the garden cabin but the signal is weak.
I have plugged the extender in but only the power light comes on. It says 'use any wireless network manager utility on a computer or tablet to find and connect to the extender wireless network'. But there is no network showing, of course, as the Wireless device to Extender light is not coming on.
What am I doing wrong?

- WizardJLuminaryHi. I absolutely think that scenario demands an extender. I'm in a similar situation myself and I use the WN3500RP here. It's running like an oiled thunderbolt.
Upon first plugging in the extender and getting a green Power LED you should be able to see an open network called NETGEAR_EXT. If you cannot see it, check again from another wireless device. Still not showing up? Try doing a reset to factory settings by pushing and holding (using a paper clip for example) the small Reset hole on the opposite side of the power port, until you get a flashing Power LED. Release it and look for the wireless network now.
Update the thread if that wont help. :) - jmizoguchiVirtuosoGo to http://support.netgear.com and download the manual
You will find the instruction if setting up the extender ,
Also suggest to try in the house .
Reminder that you ca NOT place extender when your existing wifi device is weak. It needs to overlap the main signals so extender may not be your best shot
Try moving router from existing location to windows facing towards the coverage you need
