WNCE2001 loses connection after a few hours

I am able to connect to the router and get on the internet, but after 16-18 hours, I lose connection. At which point I need to power down and power up the adapter by removing and plugging back the power cord. At least it's been consistent. I am using at a remote location 5 hours away, so when it loses connection, I need to have the handyman working there restart the device and everything is ok again for the next ~12 hours. I bought this refurbish on Amazon 3 weeks ago. Do I just have a defective unit? Help please, I don't want to go on another 10 hour round trip drive.

    WNCE2001 correct?
  • Yes. The device connected to the WNCE2001 is locked in a cabinet. I placed the WNCE2001 outside to make sure it would get a good signal.
  • flaaash: Did you ever resolve your problem? I have the same issue, even when the WNCE2001 is sitting a foot away from my Cisco RV110W and the WNCE2001 is set to have a static IP address. The unit clearly has issues maintaining the WLAN connection, despite it's default Fragmentation Length of 2346, CTS/RTS Threshold of 2346, and Long Preamble are at the most tolerant end of those settings. It will often drop it within minutes, then re-establish within a few more minutes (often with a yellow WLAN LED instead of green), then drop, etc. At some point, it just drops it forever.
  • hi my wnce2001 does the same it can not hold a stable wlan connection over a distance of 10 meters with a dgn 2200 static ips
  • I would say 10M/32ft, is quite a distance. Unless you have line a sight or not obstacle it may be difficult.

WNCExxx would has same effect as most other USB WIFI adapter. You should test other wifi devices and see what is the signal is like.

I think my has just dropped forever. I had to keep resetting it and it worked for awhile until finally i reset it and nothing happened. The wps light has not come back on and i think it is gone forever. Do i need to buy a new wireless adapter?
