WNDAP350 2.4GHz drops out every few seconds

As the subject states, we've just bought a number of WNDAP350 access points. The wireless functions perfectly on the 5GHz band, but the 2.4GHz continually drops out. I'm trying to borrow a laptop with a different chipset to check, but so far the Intel 5300 Wifi and iPhone 3GS both fail to keep a connection.

Using Vistumbler on the laptop shows a complete drop to zero-signal roughly every 2-3 seconds.

I've tried with all encryption disabled too, which has made no difference.

Has anyone else had similar issues?

Stephen

  • i have the same issue, but on 5gz band

    i have one wndap350 and one wndap360 bridged together, using both for wireless access points. the 350 has 2.1.2 firmware, and the 360 has 2.1.1 (the latest for that box)

    whenever i do rogue ip detection, i get the drop outs (on 5gh, havent tested on 2.4ghz) BUT this is with the latest wirless laptop card; lenovo t420s with intel centrino ultimate n6300 agn, with the latest drivers.

    turn off rogue ip detection, it works with no dropouts. with it on, it dies periodically (between every 30 seconds to 3 minutes).

    so it isnt just old $10 wireless cards having issues

  • I should have researched these forums sooner before purchasing WNDAP350. Almost all clients experience complete loss of connection after 10-15 minutes of use. It is especially prevelant in Apple products. I have even completely disabled the the 5ghz radio, but there are still issues. I use a static channel, turned of the WMM powersave, rogue ip, etc. Still have these problems. Clients have to be manually disconnected then reconnected to the AP. What is up Netgear? And yes I am on latest 2.1.2 firmware.
  • For anyone having problems with the WNDAP350 and specially with apple products like the iphone.
    Enabling the WMM will help increase speed.
    Disabling the Powersave will help remove some random disconnects.
    Disabling the AMPDU will assure that the iPhone always quickly connects.
    Enabling the RIFS will speed up the transfer rate dramatically.
    Hope this helps

    Here's location of changes.

    Radio Button=WMM Powersave {Disable}

    Change #2

    CLICK
    Radio Button=AMPDU {Disable}
    Radio Button=RIFS {Enable}
  • Have applied these settings but iPhone 4S still disconnecting.
    Only 3-5 clients on 2.4 ghz and 3 clients on 5ghz band.
    WNDAP350_V2.1.2
    Just come from Cisco WAP4410n which had disconnecting problems:mad:
  • Before changing the RIFS and AMPDU settings as described above my MacBook would regularly lose network connection (wifi signal fine but can't ping anything) until I either disconnected or switched between the 2.4GHz and 5GHz SSID.

    Since changing the settings it's been rock solid.

    Firmware: 2.1.7.
