WNDR3400 v2 providing incorrect IP addresses via repeater
This setup is for my office, I have 3 WNDR3400v2's they are used nothing more than for Wireless, my main router or command station is in my server room and i have 2 repeaters on each side of the building... Our company is on a different IP scheme we run off of 10.0.1.x for all wireless. My problem is when some devices (normally windows machines) when they first connect to the wireless they get an ip of 192.168.1.x and its not until i release and renew that it finally gets its right ip address of 10.0.1.x. This is not acceptable and I need them to connect to the right IP on the first time? how do I make this happen what step am I missing?
I have the repeaters setup to not distribute dhcp as i set that in the lan settings of the gui..

- fordemMentorAsk yourself these questions ...
1 - Where is the DHCP server that it is issuing the 192.168.x.x addresses?
2 - How are the wireless clients communicating with it?
The answers to those questions will lead you to the solution.
If you feel the WNDR3400s are issuing the addresses, which they shouldn't be, if you have configured them correctly, then try changing the DHCP range on them, see if the "incorrect" addresses follow suit.
FWIW - I'm a great believer in using equipment designed for the task at hand - and whilst a wireless router can be used as an access point, it is not designed for that, a dedicated wireless access points would have had a feature set more suited to your needs, and quite likely been less problematic. - jmizoguchiVirtuosoAssume 2 Device in two building is using ethernet cable back to the main router?
If so use AP mode in the router GUI and use internet port on 2 remote WNDR3400. Internet port will change to AP mode and disable all firewall feature and you will make SINGEL network with 192.168.0.x
From what I see is you have 10.0.x IP so you have 2 device is using internet port and connected to existing network. This just common installation 9 out 10 consumers install it. It will work as is but I would use AP mode per suggested and make single network - jmizoguchiVirtuosoAsk question here and not PM
- turtlerhyAspirantI have a specific port on my switch set up as a different vlan to distribute out IP addresses that are 10.0.1.x from that port on the switch it goes to the wndr3400 internet port.. (im not using the WAN port on any of these) the first router is not setup in AP mode, however it still works... from the back of this wndr3400 i have it going to a drop panel, and those drop panels are wired to certain sides of the buildings where the other wndr3400's are and those wndr3400's are set up in AP mode... no matter what though... it still designates it to 192.168.1.x... IM STUCK PLEASE HELP!!

set up as a different vlan to distribute out IP addresses that are 10.0.1.x from that port on the switch it goes to the wndr3400 internet port.. (im not using the WAN port on any of these)
confusing sentence
put some diagram - turtlerhyAspirantIm not sure how you want me to diagram this???
I have 2 IP schemes that are set up in my office... 10.0.0.x and that is for all my hardlined/lan connections in the office... I set up a port on one of my switches so that it only distribute 10.0.1.x this port goes directly to port 1 on the wndr3400 and the other ports (2,3 and 4) on the back of that wndr3400 have ethernet cords that go to a drop panel (a central location that divides which port it will go to in the building aka just a routing ethernet port) that connect to another wndr3400 that are on opposite sides of the building that connect into port 1 on the back of that wndr3400...
becoming extremely frustrated with this, and about ready to move on from this setup as it does not seem smart enough to distribute accurate ip address's - jmizoguchiVirtuosouse imageshack.us and put digram to show how it all hooked up

Im not sure if that helps you... but thats the way i have it setup - jmizoguchiVirtuosodrop panel ,switch , 3400 loop around?
you have layer 3 switch that dhcp to 10.0.1? - turtlerhyAspirantthere is one port on the switch that only gives out 10.0.1 ip address's and goes directly into a wndr3400 from the lan ports on the back of the 3400 go to the drop panel to where the other 3400's are designated... therefore only distributing 10.0.1.x ip address's
