C6900 - Ethernet 600 Mbps, 5 GHZ 150 Mbps, 2.4 GHZ <40 Mbps
Testing internet speeds with ethernet connected computer and phone for wi-fi < 5 feet away from router. Is the drop off from wired to wireless normal? Was in auto and went into manual and toggled channels but haven't been getting much improvement. Live in a suburban neighborhood with homes spaced ~20 feet apart. Confirmed latest firmware was installed. Rebooted multiple times. Router sitting on a table ~ 4 feet off the ground. As you could expect, performance drops off siginficantly in other parts of the home.

do you have the C6900 or C7000?
Wired will be much faster than wireless. It has less interference, less overhead, and won't drop off with distance.
As well as certain device's wireless is going to be different. a 1x1 antenna is going to have lower speed than a 2x2 antenna.
And 2.4ghz is much much slower than 5ghz which is slower than wired.
Also, even through 5ghz is much faster than 2.4ghz, it doesn't penetrate as well or broadcast as far.
So there's many factors.
What speeds do you get wired?
What speeds do you get 2.4ghz?
And 5ghz?
What site are you testing on and what device?

See title.

C6900.
Using Google Internet Speed Test on a Oneplus 5t.
have you tested any other devices?
the 2.4ghz is usually what you can expect.
same as you're hitting full speed on wired.
So its a question of the 5ghz.
What link speed do you have (not the same as throughput)
