Cannot regester Netgear N300 DGN2200

I bought the router at a thrift sale. I can't activate the router because it's still regestered to its previous owner and NetGear won't let me re-regester without the origional owners info. How do I regester the router to myself?

       Still true.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your model number, and look
for Documentation.  Get the User Manual.  Read.  Look for "Factory
    Settings".

Reset the router.  That should restore the router to the settings on
the product label.  Then, if you still can't get connected to the thing,
then report what you're actually doing and seeing, not what you think it

all means ("can't activate", "the router won't put out any wi-fi").

What, exactly, is telling you that "the router won't put out any
    wi-fi"?

Bear in mind that there may be a good reason that the device was in a
    thrift sale.

       Ok.

    > I can't activate the router [...]

What, exactly, does "activate the router" mean to you?  "can't" is
not a useful problem description.  It does not say what you did.  It
does not say what happened when you did it.  As usual, showing actual
actions with their actual results (error messages, LED indicators, ...)
can be more helpful than vague descriptions or interpretations.

Why bother? It is not under warranty. And you don't need to register to get it to work.

There is a manual for the DGN2200v1 somewhere at the end of this link:

    >>>> DGN2200v1 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<<

Do not expect much from this devices. It has slow wifi, does not support 5 GHz wifi and has 100BASE-Tx LAN, so it is slower than some recent internet speeds and the LAN on most modern PCs.
