can't connect to internet

Had a Power outage.  Trying to reconnect to internet with my netgear26.  It appears to be connected when I go to settings on my phone or other device, but then when I try to do something I get the message "Safari cannot open the page because it could not connect th this server." Thank you in advance for any help.

"NETGEAR26"?  Either way, it's not a model number.  Look for "Model"
on the product label.  Firmware version?  Connected to what?

Thanks for your analysis, but it would be more helpful to describe
actual behavior, and let others decide what it all means.

Visit http://netgear.com/support , put in your (actual) model number,
and look for Documentation.  Get the User Manual (at least).  Read.
Look for the LED descriptions and "Troubleshoot".

       "something"?

None of that is a useful problem description.  It does not say what
you did.  (It does say what happened when you did it.)  As usual,
showing actual actions (commands) with their actual results (error
messages, LED indicators, ...) can be more helpful than vague
    descriptions or interpretations.

This usually takes out everything on your network. When they restart, they can get confused.

As this is a router, there is probably a modem sitting in front of it. You need to get the devices to forget any inherited settings. Among other things, that means rebooting the network. For example, I once had a modem that took so long to start that the router sitting behind it timed out and just sat there going nowhere.

It may help to reboot the whole network in the right order:

    • Turn off and unplug modem.
    • Turn off router and computers.
    • Plug in and turn on modem. Wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on the router and wait 2 minutes for it to connect.
    • Turn on computers and rest of network.

Try that before you start pulling your hair out. You lose nothing even if it doesn't work.
