Changing usb storage drive number
Firmware V1.0.1.18_1.0.15
Lenovo Desktop Win10 64 bit
The drive I first used for readyshare shows up as the Z drive in File Explorer. I want to change drives and the new drive is assigned T. The drive still shows up as USB_Storage (\\readyshare)(Z: ) in Explorer and can't access the new drive. I can run \\readyshare and see the T drive and access it.
How can I get the new T drive to show up in Explorer so I can access it?
I did not find anything that worked when I searched.

Your workaround is fine, but I think you are a bit confused.
You can map a network share (\\readyshare\drive_T) to a drive letter in Windows if you want. The drive letter you use is managed by Windows, not the router. It has nothing to do with disk management, because the drives aren't connected to your PC.

You will to set the drive to what you in windows not the router. The router only assigns a ip address to the usb drive and if the computer can see the drive on the router it has its ip address too however assigns drive ids out the drives like hard drives, cd drives and so on. The assigned letter can be changed in windows itself.
What version of windows do you use ?

Two things - I meant drive letter not number
My router is a R6400.
I looked at Windows Disk Management/actions but neither the T drive or the old Z drive is listed. And there are no change a drive letter actions listed.
Right now I have a workaround - Went to Network/readyshare/drive_T and made a desktop short cut to it. That lets me access the readyshare T Drive. It's less clicks than opening "This PC" anyway.

Using Win10 as posted in my original post. Firmware number is there also.
