Chromebox access to router USB AC1750 not mount

No selection for my router it's an AC1750 not AC1450

Chromebox works fine on internet, setup on ethernet.

I have several chromebox's I use for TV connect.

I have a thumb drive in each with numorus .html pages, a menu system with

canned links and searches.

Rather then have one on each box, one on router would be easier to update.

Same problem others seem to have on here. I downloaded the windows file share for chrome from google.

What file system is the router? SMB work? What do I type for share?

readyshare doesn't work. Is there a manual means to connect to the ready share drive like an IP? how would it be typed?

  • It is model R6400.

Using Chromebox with Network File Shares for Chrome OS installed from Google.

found first problem IP. Now it tries to mount.

    smb://192.168.1.0/readyshare/USB_Storage

    \\192.168.1.0\readyshare\USB_Storage

Will now try to mount, after a minute it says mount failed.

    At least it is trying.

Is there anything wrong with these two logins

Which password does it need to work?

Tried Chromebox login, Admin, whats written on router, etc.

Found this, says it should work! So much conflicting info on subject.

      Hi getreal,

      1. What is the firmware version of the router?

      2. The ReadySHARE feature was tested to only work with Windows and Mac for SMB.

      3. Have you tried using your Windows or Mac computer to check if the ReadySHARE feature works?

      4. Does FTP or HTTP access work with the Chromebox?

      Regards,

Whatever the problem was, I doubt that "192.168.1.0" is the solution.

           The all-zeros (".0") and all-ones (".255") addresses are broadcast
addresses -- not what you want to use.  The router's default address is
        more likely to be 192.168.1.1.

  • Works with an old windows 8 box, no updates in two years since I removed it from the INet.

Either I can't find the proper SMB Path or netgear readyshare doesn't work with chromebox.

Tried a ASUS and an HP chromebox.

Chromebox & book are the wave of the future for the connected home. Seems Netgear would get with google and solve this.
