Dumb question about X6
Bought an X6 and brought it down to my existing router (in the basement). Set it up via the app (and had it plugged into the router via an Ethernet cord during set up. While plugged in and all set up, it works beautifully, the download speed was 4 times what I normally get.
Here’s my question:
I want to move the X6 up to my bedroom, where I can only get WiFi, no Ethernet, as the basement is the only place hence why the existing router is down there.
When I bring it up there and plug it in, everything comes on, but of course the internet LED light is Orange and nothing can connect. Is there a way to turn this X6 into an extender up here and get the signal from downstairs? Is it a matter of configuring matching IP addresses or something? I’m good at following directions, but can’t quite figure out what those steps would be (if this is possible). Thanks.

the problem is that when you set it up with the extender hardwired into the router, you're setting it up in access point mode, not extender mode.
Factory reset the extender and reinstall it without connecting it to the router. That'll set it up using extender mode.
