Feed in your model number and check the documentation for your hardware.

That page will also have any software, firmware and drivers for your device, if they exist.

Look for the model number on the label on the device.

    Begin with the Installation Guide.

While many questions about routers are generic and could be answered anywhere, some things need specialist knowledge.

You might get more help, and find earlier questions and answers specific to your device, in the appropriate section for your hardware. That's probably here:

    Switches - NETGEAR Communities

I will ask the Netgear moderator to move your message.

  • what actual device are you connecting the switch to?

    You put "modem".

If its truly a modem only device, for most ISP's you can only connect a single device to it.

If you're wanting more connected, then you need a router or something to assign private IP addresses to.

So again, what modem/router/device are you connecting the switch to?

I'm connecting to a router... they both worked fine until I replaced the router... one of them is ok.. the 2nd extender doesn't want to connect..

You'll have to tell us more.

You have a modem (which one?) feeding a router (which one?)?

The switch should be at the end of the chain, after the modem and router.

What is this "2nd extender"? The switch? Something else?

The word "extender" has special meaning in network world. It is usually something that extends the stretch of your wifi.

The more you can tell us the better. It cuts down how many questions you have to answer before we know what the problem might be.

It sound like this anonymous Opus "modem" – there must be more than one model of Optus modem in the world – may be a modem/router. You said earlier:

        I'm connecting to a router..

Is that the same as the "optus modem"? If not you may be in classic "two routers" territory.

        I don't understand this bit:

        What is this "power board"?
