How to troubleshoot a dead R6250

I have been using a Netgear R6250 router for several years and yesterday, it stopped working. All lights are off. I have verified that the power supply registers 12V. Not sure if there is anything I can do to troubleshoot more precisely what has gone wrong.

  • Hard part about power supplies is they can usually supply a voltage until a load put on them.

Don't suppose you have a different device around with a matching power supply (same voltage and polarity, can have higher amperage) that you could test it with?

there is also a power on/off botton on the back. have you tried that a couple times? Maybe its having issues.

Thanks for your response. I unfortunately do not have a matching power supply. I did try to power on/off many times to no avail. Not much I can do at this point but replace it.

have you checked the power supply? Just to see if its appying voltage at all?
