N300 Wireless Router WNR2000v4 slowing download speeds

Hello,

I have Time Warner Cable and pay for 50mps download speed. When connected directly to the Modem I get better than 50mps download. When I run through the Wireless router using either wireless or wired connections the download speed slows to under 10mps. Please guide me on how I can change this. These tests of mine where done with only 1x Computer on the netword.

Bob

  • Hi cssva3 Do you have the latest firmware installed on your router?

If not, see this link on how to upgrade the firmware.

After firmware upgrade, reset the router by pressing the reset button for 20 seconds.

Once done, reconfigure the router to get the Internet connection back.

Hello ElaineM, I do not have the latest firmware installed. I am one back of the latest but did not see where the latest firmware would change anything that would cause this issue. If you think that I still should upgrade please let me know.
