Netgear C6220
My ISP is comcast/Xfinity So I have a netgear router and when ever I go to change its ip because I keep getting botted offline xbox I change it and most of the sites I use including xbox do not work ...
Is the modem and router the same device? If not you will need to unplug the modem not the router. If they are the same device you may not be leaving it unplugged long enough. Try leaving it unplugged 5 to 10 minutes in either case. You should also contact your ISP and let them know it is happening.
