Netgear Router WiFi light: should it be solid or blinking?

Hi there!
I have a Netgear R6220 router and I am wondering if my wifi symbol light is supposed to be a solid green light? (The symbol is the one that looks like a dot with two brackets on each side - I attached an image of this.) can this light be flashing and still be considered as my internet working?

My computer seems to be fine but my husband’s computer on the other side of our small apartment has had trouble on zoom calls. We also have a WiFi extender. Our dowload speed is 124.7 and upload speed is 22.23 and ping rate is 9.

Does this seem okay? Or do I need to do something to ensure the WiFi’s symbol light is a solid green rather than a flashing green? I have already done a power cycle but no difference.

  • according to the manual for the R6220 (which you put as your router), if the wifi is blinking, its indicating data transfer.

    • Solid green. The 2.4 GHz WiFi radio is operating.
    • Blinking. The router is sending or receiving WiFi traffic.
    • Off. The 2.4 GHz WiFi radio is off

What band is your husband connecting to?

2.4ghz is sensitive to interfernce which tends to be pretty bad in apartments.

Also, many apartments are made of brick/concrete/metal walls. Which do a great job of blocking wifi.

Know how to get rid of the blinking so it turns solid? I’ve been spending all day trying to figure this out!

Shut off all your wifi devices?

Its designed to blink to show that devices are connected and transmitting data over wifi.
