netgear wndr3400v2 wont let new devices on wireless anymore?

I use my router through my comcast cable router ( bridged) and it functions fine except for a while now I can't add any new devices to the access control ? It shows them under allowed devices not connected and I can no longer get them on the first allowed/connected screen. I usually restrict it so a new device mac address needs to be input but either way anymore I can no longer get a new device to connect wirelessly? I only have approx 7 things on it cuurently...any help would be really appreciated. I just got a new TV and cant connect. I first noticed when I tried to let someone get onto the router for their phone wifi...sorry if not so clear .

  • Thanks a lot for your help Elaine... Got what you said. Not sure if I'll pull the trigger to reset quite yet. Why do today what you can put off until tomorrow...hahaha

    Hi dough041

    Welcome to the community!

Looks like you're unable to add devices under Access Control.

Will you be able to add another device when you take one from the list?

What are the settings you have enabled on the router?

Do you have Port Forwarding, Block Sites, Block Services, USB Storage enabled?

How many devices are connected (wired and wireless)?

I can access the wireless on all 7 devices ( 2 wired/6 wireless). However for the last 8 months or so when I try to let family enter their MAC address to my allowed list it won't enable them to get on the wifi such as iPhones, smart tv etc. My android phone does connect but doesn't show up on the allowed list.Am afraid to hard reset router as maybe then it will not allow me to connect any new devices including ones currently on like roku, Amazon etc...

Sounds like a hard reset may be needed here.

You may want to backup the settings of your router before resetting.

Then once done, you may restore the settings.
