No IP address obtained from WAN connection
Ok, so this morning I reset my modem and router, because my connection seemed to slow down by quite a bit, and I started having trouble staying connected on my ps4. But after everything came back up, I tried reconnecting, and got no IP address. I turned on my desktop, which is also wirelessly connected, and the same, no internet, but it was picking up the SSID of the router.
I have a Motorola Arris modem, and a Netgear WNDR4300v2 router, fully updated firmware. The weirdest part of this, is that any LAN connection can still get on the net, as well as any wireless connection that can pick up my 5 Ghz signal, ie. my phone, my tablet. But anything connecting with the 2.4 Ghz connection won't get past the SSID, and the password for the router.
My IP address is set to autoconfigure, as well as DNS gateway, and so on. I didn't even have a problem connecting until I unplugged, and replugged the modem and router.
I called Comcast, they said because I didn't purchase their **bleep**ty modem and router, they can't do anything, but that my house is connected properly. I called Netgear and the guy just gave me the runaround because he was only trained to help people too computer illiterate to figure out how to even connect to the router. He did verify though, that all the lights on the router were properly lit, and I don't notice anything wrong with the lights on my modem.

- Ive seemingly fixed the problem by enabling IPv6. But I was trying a playstation 4, and my windows 10 running desktop. My 2.4 was already on channel 11. And what I meant by getting through the SSID I meant that I'd put in the password, it'd accept the password, but it wouldn't get an IP address.

Welcome to the community, DSLPTx0
What's the 2.4GHz device you're trying to connect to the router? Is this a laptop, desktop pc, tablet, mobile phone?
Are you getting any error message when connecting the device?
When you say won't pass the SSID, does this mean it sees the SSID but when you try to input the password it won't accept it?
Have you tried changing the channel on the 2.4GHz?
See this article on how to get into the admin page of the router and change the channel.
I suggest that you try to use channel 1,6 and 11.

try a factory default and then reload FW same problem replace it.
