Printer won’t connect

HP OfficeJet 3830 suddenly not “seen” by the ThinkPad laptop. Bothe connected to the Netgear WiFi router and recognized by the app. When attempting to reinstall the printer, it asks for the “router PIN”. I’ve never been asked this before. Says “Enter the PIN from the router label (usually an 8-digits)”. I have no idea what this is or why it is asking for this when it never has before. There is no such reference on the router. We been using this router, with this laptop and printer, for over year, and this has never come up. Any thoughts?

How do you know the printer is connected to the wifi?

Are you doing a scan with the built in network printer finder in windows?

did you contact the printer manufacturer?

Are any other devices having issues or just the printer?

    Which app?

The usual way to fix wifi printers is to find the printer maker's utility, the software that runs on your operating system. Then use that to connect the printer to the wifi.

Installing HP wireless printer software | Wireless Printing Center | HP® United Kingdom

The router just broadcasts wifi. It is then down to the printer to play ball. There isn't much that you can do on a router, beyond fixing it to a particular IP address, that affects what the printer gets up to.

Where possible, using the WPS feature can simplify things.
