1. Is the R6300v2 connected to a plain modem or a modem-router combo?
2. If it is a modem-router combo, you can check page 100 of the user manual linked below to set it up in AP mode.

Do you want to use the R6300v2 as a router or as an AP? Is the router's internet port connected to the modem, or one of the LAN ports?

I think AP. I just want it to be able to serve as an ethernet splitter honestly. There is another router connected to the same modem that works just fine for wifi. In its current settings, it seems to be amplifying minor ping spikes from the modem that are really effecting my gaming. The ping from the modem maxes at around 100ms and the ping from the R6300v2 maxes at 800, so there's quite the gap.
