R6300v2 Unable to log in

  • Dexter, after I did a mental ecaluation and decided that I had made no changes of any kind (including the password) since I installed the router, I did a factory reset - but I got the same error message as before.  I then logged in from another connected computer with routerlogin.net with the same results.  So i tried 192.168.1.1 and BINGO, got in.  I did a version update and now everything is back to where it was and I can see what is connected.

    Thanks for the help

    Hi kappa436,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. Are you trying to login to the router UI using a web browser or via the NETGEAR Genie app/program?

    3. Have you tried using another device?

    4. Have you tried resetting the router?

    Regards,

Not sure about version, since I can't log in. trying to log in.  Am using browsers. Don't know how to use Genie app. Not sure what logging in from another device would accomplish

Since the router is doing everything I need it to do, including internet access, VPN acccess, and wireless and wired communications between two desktop computers, laptops, tablets, three priinters and two smzartphones - and I have had some critical needs for the last week, I have been afraid to reset the router to factory settings because I was afraid it might not do what it is now doing.  Access to see what is connected is nice; but not essential.

I can try resetting it when I would have a window where I could recover if I lost it.
