R6400 Router Intermittent Internet Issues

My R6400 randomly looses it wireless connection for a few seconds. It appears to still have a connection to my cable modem. A few seconds later it is back up and working as though there was no problem. I have reset it and my cable modem and it continues to happen as is very frustrating.

  • I got it fixed for now, what pain. I flashed the software, but then I had to hard reset the router about 40 to 50 times. I would test it after each reset, I would wait 4 to 5 minutes to make sure it was up. It would not make a connection to my cable modem until I had reset it several times. Then all of a sudden it was working and I could reset all of my custom setting. I could not reinstall my settings to the router, it did not stay up when I tried it. So I had to reset it several more times, set it up again. It was a real pain have to reset it so many times and manually reconfigure it.

    Hi tdhillson,

    1. What is the firmware version of the router?

    2. Does the issue persist on both wired and wireless connections?

    3. Have you tried bypassing the router and connecting straight to the modem to check if the connection is stable?

    4. Have you tried reflashing the latest firmware?

    5. Have you tried other firmware versions?

    6. Have you tried changing the Ethernet cable connecting the router to the modem?

    Regards,
