R6900v2 lost internet connection
I lost internet connection (orange light) to my router (R6900v2) yesterday morning. First few cable modem (CM1200) reboots would solve the connection issue, but only for a few minutes. Called Comcast, the CSR advised me that my modems firmware was updated recently, and was unable to communicate properly with my router. Upon investigation, I find my ISP controls the modem firmware, the firmware is up to date, but am not able to get the router to connect to internet. Router is up to date, nothing has changed, that I know of, from Saturday eveing to Sunday am, besides time change.
- Factory reset worked. Thank you, to all, for the help

1. What firmware is on the router?
2. Are you able to access the router's gui? Meaning can you log into it and make changes
3. Are your devices saying "connected, no internet"?
4. The cm1200 has 4x ethernet ports but comcast only allows you to connect 1 device to it. Try power it off, disconnect everything from it, then connect a pc/laptop to the port 1 and power it back on. SEe if its usable. If it is, then power it back off for 2 minutes and connect the router back to port 1 and power it back on. Then wait a couple minutes and power the router back on.
I will try this when I get home from work.
The firmware for the router is 1.2.0.88
Yes I am able to login to the router. Status for internet says not connected.
I am able to get on the internet thru just the modem using my PC.
Again, make sure nothing else is connected to the cm1200 but the router. The isp only assigns 1 public ip address and if it assigns it to the computer and not the router, the reset of the devices won't work.
If you had it connected, you'll need to use the disconnect/power off I outlined before.
