set up router wnr200v3 without internet
At the moment I have a laptop controlling a Behringer X32 sound mixer via wired ethernet.
The plan is to use wnr2000v3 to provide wireless access for laptops/phones as well as keeping
the wired laptop. No internet requred or wanted.
Problem is - when I access router, it won't let me go past the internet/wan settings
One suggestion I've read is -
from lap top START,RUN,type http://www.routerlogiin.com/basicsetting.htm
another is -
type the same thing into web browser
or -
type ip address followed by /basicsetting
all of the above suggest various combinations of powering up and connecting
I've tried all of these with no success - either "internet setup screen" or nothing.
Can anyone please help
Cheers Phil
Success.
Managed to do it by setting another laptop to fixed IP address then plugging it into Wan port .
Now it lets me past the Wan set up screen even with the Wan port dis-connected.
Strange but good to know.
Thanks for your help.
Cheers Phil.

What if you did setup with internet and then disconnect it? You could even move it to another location, after the initial setup it should give a ****** weather or not it has a WAN connection.

Thanks for reply Searay
Yes I was holding back on doing as you suggested for fear of messing something up on my home system.
I've since discovered that I would also need a seperate ADSL modem to do this.
Looks like its time to get another router.
Thanks for your help anyway.
Cheers Phil.
