Unable to connect to Skype after installing WiFi router - WNDR3400
Skype was working on a wired cable CISCO modem (DPC3010). Connected Netgear router through my cable modem, following enclosed directions. After installation, I can connect to the internet and get to everything else. However, I receive the following when attempting to connect to Skype: "Sorry, we couldn't connect to Skype. Please check your internet connection and try again." I am using port 1024 for incoming connections. And ports 80 and 443 for additional incoming connections. Also using "Automatic proxy detection". Have tried numerous combinations, all with no luck. I have also installed the latest version (7.25.0.106). Skype web-site just keeps sending me round and round to the same few troubleshooting pages...which doesn't solve my problem. Can you assist or point me in the right direction? Much appreciated!
ElaineM: You were correct in stating that there was some settings within the computer or browser settings that were the problem. Actually got help from the Skype community. I plead ignorance to the fact that you need Internet Explorer for Skype to work. Duh! I have been using Google Chrome exclusively. When I brought up Internet Explorer, it wasn't working. No network connections. I went to the I.E. LAN Settings and the "Automatically detect settings" box was unchecked. After checking it, I was able to get on the network again and Skype worked correctly. Too easy. Didn't think about looking at IE at all. Thanks very much for the help!!!
FYI: I am using Skype on a Win 7 desktop PC.

Hello Matt_Foley
Welcome to the community!
Are you trying to use Skype on your desktop computer?
Have you tried clearing your browser settings?
What's the Operating System of your computer?
Since you have internet access through the router then this must be some settings within your computer or some browser settings.
See this link for more information.
