Vizio 4k Smart TV broken connection after R6700 v2 firmware update. Great work.

July 2nd 2018 updated firmware on router because "reasons" and of course something doesn't work now.  My 55" Vizio 4k will not connect wirelessly to either 2.4 or 5 network.  All my other devices do including an older 70" vizio.  Can't blame Vizio because they didn't update anything, this is 100% netgear.  It's also great to see such a complete lack of knowledge and customer support.  The community is the only help you'll get unless you like wasting your time with non-english speaking pushers of buttons.  I added a wired router (ironically netgear) and the TV at least now can be used to watch Amazon etc again.

  • Hi Lovehate,

    Welcome to the community!

    1. Please make sure that a factory reset is done after the firmware update.

    2. Can the Vizio TV still detect the wireless networks?

    3. Have you tried changing the wireless channels for either bands (2.4GHz and 5GHz)?

    4. Do you have a static IP set for the TV?

    5. Do you have Access Control enabled on the router?

    Regards,
