wifi disconnecting on both 2.4g and 5g

Wired connection works fine and my genie says the wifi is fine but none of my devices can see either wireless broadcasting.  I can fix this for about 5 minutes by resetting the router but it always returns to the this state. I've already done a factory reset and tried different channels for both.  It never appears to be just one going down, its both at once every time.  Checked my firmware and its up to date.

    Hi Lo7us,

    1. Have you tried using another firmware version?

    2. You can also try re-flashing the firmware the do a factory reset.

  • It can be difficult  to work out if these problems are down to the router (wifi source) of the wifi clients. If the router is sending out that wifi as planned, then it may be the clients that are at fault.

    One thing you could try is to change the wifi settings on the router from Auto to a particular channel.

    There is a manual for this device at the end of this link:

    >>> R6300v2 | Product | Support | NETGEAR <<<

    Check page 91.

    This will prevent the router from changing wifi channels, which might have confused your wifi clients.

    Check for other nearby wifi sources to see if there are any that could interfere with your own wifi.
