WNDR3400v3 - wireless does not work
Bought in August 2015. Now after 90 days Was working fine until two days ago.
It works when I hook up the ethernet cable so it is not the internet connection.
I tried going into control panel and setting up but without the wire it does not find the router.
I do not have a modem, but rather a DSL line from ATT.
I went on the website and it apperas that all of the settings are correct.
I take my laptop around the house so really need the wireless

It appears that problem may be with the PC network adaptor. I checked device manager and Realtec is yellow. Download a new drive but not sure it it installed. I get the following message
Driver Management concluded the process to install driver netrtwlane.inf_amd64_0c38440cd4a5a694\netrtwlane.inf for Device Instance ID PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8723&SUBSYS_072410EC&REV_00\4&2EEAE01&0&00E1 with the following status: 0x17.
Also
Windows cannot verify the digital signature for the drivers required for this device. A recent hardware or software change might have installed a file that is signed incorrectly or damaged, or that might be malicious software from an unknown source. (Code 52)
I did a system restore back to Nov 14 but this did not work.
I can connect wirelessly with my ipad and all the lights on the router are working. I also checked the airplane mode to verify it was not turned on.
Perhaps, I may need to take my computer in for service.
The PC network adaptor deals with the LAN (wired) connection. Something else usually handles the wifi. Or is this network adaptor the wifi card in your PC?
One way to deal with driver issues is to remove all of the drivers in Device Manager, reboot the PC and let it find the drivers afresh.
Another option, have you visited the motherboard maker's website for new "chipset" drivers. These don't always show up in Windows update.
Then again, I am not sure what problem you are trying to solve.
The PC's wifi behaviour, and its drivers, will have no effect on the interaction between the WNDR3400 and a laptop.
Can you get at the web interface for the WNDR3400v3 using the LAN? If so, that should let you get into the WNDR3400 so that you can investigate the wifi settings.
