WNDR3700v2 Dropped connection and other issues
So a few days ago while i was playing a game on my desktop that is connected through ethernet cable the internet disconnected and I had a limited connection. I noticed the blinking green light on the modem was solid green and not blinking and same with the router so i turned off my computer and disconnected the modem and router and 10 minutes later tried plugging in the modem and it wouldnt connect at all until about 30 minutes later. Then today while using the computer my modem was fine but the router power light turned orange and the blinking activity light turned solid orange but the others were green and after a few minutes of limited connection it started working again.
At this time i went into the router settings and i got a weird message saying im signed in on another device which is impossible because i only access the settings on that computer. I immediatly changed my router password and wifi password. There wasnt anything in the logs at all. I have the latest firmware and have UPNP turned off and router pin off and remote turned off. I know my computer doesnt have a virus because i just got it 5 months ago and i only use it for my mmorpg games and not surfing the web, i use my phone for that. Also i only let 1 device connect to the router at a time to prevent the spread of a virus if one of them got infected. My computer and drivers are up to date and secure and so is the router. I tried replacing the modem and surge protector and that didnt help. Strange thing is it just started recently and i havent moved my modem or router for about a year so i cant imagine its interference.
Also i used to get dos attacks almost once or twice every day from random ip addresses so im not sure if maybe they broke into my router or not but i use virus protection/firewalls and scan regulary with malwarebytes and i dont open any ports
Perhaps the router is starting to fail.
Try to reflash the firmware of the router, reset then reconfigure.
When you reconfigure, change all the wireless settings to a different SSID and use a stronger wifi password as well as the login password for the router.
Observe your connection.

That sounds strange.
Will the connection drop if you direct connect your computer to the modem?
How many computers are connected to the router?
What kind of wireless security you're using on the router?

No it works fine connected directly to the modem.
2 computers 1 tablet and a game console use the router but i only have 1 device connected at a time so i dont think its an overload issue
I use WPA2 with a 30 character password that has upper case/lower case letters and numbers so its a strong password same with the password to access the settings of the router.
