WNDR4300 Dos Attacks

In my logs I see

[DoS Attack: Ascend Kill] from source: 85.252.162.7, port 123, Monday, September 26, 2016 17:57:50
[DoS Attack: Ascend Kill] from source: 195.154.174.209, port 123, Monday, September 26, 2016 17:55:03

[DoS Attack: RST Scan] from source: 188.121.36.239, port 80, Monday, September 26, 2016 17:52:32

etc.

Is this really DoS attacs. Why would anyone DoS me, and how can I prevent this or secure myself best from it?

  • Thank you.

So you are saying these things are normal. Ok, I dont have a slow network, so I guess I can stop worrying :)

    Hello Fluid

    Welcome to the community!

The router just basically shows you these logs for information.

It's an alert that tells you that someone tries to knock and check if they can open the door.

Are you having slow down performance in your network?

If you do, it's best to coordinate with your ISP and check if they can give you a new IP address.

and many of them are false positives. NETGEAR firmware sucks at detecting most DoS attacks

Right. Nothing to worry about if everything's working normal.
