WNR2000 v4 does not allow any devices to connect

So, my old router was somehow 'defective'. I received a new onw in the mail and have hooked it up, installed new firmware and am able to access the internet on my desktop, but that is the only device that connects.

I have multiple phones in my home that connect to wifi, along with a gaming system and a tablet. Absoluetly nothing connects to this router. I have all green and bluse light. Have tried pressing the wps button to connect each device, nothing.

What's the problem here? What am I missing? I have tried unplugging, restarting and rebooting and I get a load of nothing in return. I see my Netgear router name on all devices, so what could I be doing wrong?

Let me know what information you need and I will gladly provide. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I would factory reset default and use the default settings.

I would forget about static IP's and MAKE sure each device is set to DHCP

I would forget all previous connections in each device.

I would read manual regarding trouble shooting

  • Sometimes its good to reset the router after a firmware upgrade. Try doing that and see if it helps, otherwise you can try reverting back to a different firmware and see if that helps out.

I've reset the router and I did a system restore to comepletly go back the point just before my old router malfunctioned and still, nothing.

I tried changing all of my devices to static ip addresses and still, nothing. My phone tells me that the connection is too slow, but it's the very same connection that I have had for YEARS and never had a problem with until last Friday.

I'm just fresh out of ideas here...

So how old is this router? Seems like its going bad if you've had it for years. If you don't mind opening your router if you've had it for a few years, you might look inside and if you see bulging capacitors then it's an easy fix if you know how to desolder and solder on capacitors.
