8000P Port forwarding issue
I have opened port 9100 on several IP's internally but when I try to access the port form the public IP the Port is not opened?? Screen shot below of my issue, I have one port for my cameras that opened no problem but my Printer ports even though they say they are open in the router are not?? What am I missing?
This appears to be set up correctly. connecting to
<public IP>:9101 should connect to 192.168.1.240:9100
<public IP>:9102 should connect to 192.168.1.241:9100
etc.
It is often useful to double check that the public IP is actually "public":
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
and also to double check by connecting to Gibson Research Shields Up! and entering the port numbers (9101, 9102, 9103, 9104, 9105)
Some devices distinguish between "local" and "remote" network connections. Windows, for example, has separate firewall rules for the two types of network connections.
Does the printer documentation say anything about this?
p.s. My Epson printer has a web interface for printer diagnostics. I sometimes forward port 80 to the printer as an easy way to determine that port forwarding is working. (and then I turn it off again).

Thanks, I know the public ip is good as I can see the port 37777 is open and broadcasting correctly for my cameras, the issue if the 91xx ports that are set up in the same manner but the ports come back as blocked ??

Just a technical note. Ports that are forwarded through routers do not "broadcast". When a packet arrives from the internet to a port that is forwarded, the router looks in the internal table to find which internal IP address and port the packet should be sent to. The router then sends the packet.
If the device at that IP address responds, then the router passes that back out to the internet. If not... C'est la vie.
Perhaps it would help replicate this situation to know what command on Windows (?) sends a file to a printer on port 9100?
My Epson printer on Windows 11 seems to be configured to use a WSD port.
(and, I do not see anything obvious in the printer control panel to define anything else..... when graded on Ignorance, I would have scored high.... except I didn't know enough)
