AC-1750 router issue

I recently had to change to a new Motorola MB8611 cable modem and I am unable to get the AC1750 to work.  Is the AC-1750 compatible?  Is there an issue I am not thinking of?

    What model do you have AC1750 is a speed, not a model. 

    Did you power off the mb8611 for 2 minutes with nothing else connected? 
    then power it on and let it boot for 2 minutes. Then connect it to the router and power the router on?

      Model is R6700v3

      I did unplug and power down a couple of different times with a different network cable each time to the same result.

      My devices can 'see' the network, but can't connect.

        They can't connect to the wifi?
        Do wired devices work?
