Accessing my AC1900 R7000
Hello, I would like to put my router into AP and switch mode (no idea how to do it). But to start it, I cannot connect to the router. By using the app, it tells me the router is disconnected, by using my laptop and typing 192.168.1.1 it connects me to my modem- router from the internet provider, not to the nightkawk is connected through ethernet to the modem-router. How I can get into the nighthawk?
When you are following the instructions from plemans you can make life easier for future management by fixing the IP address on your access point. Then, whenever you want to get into the GUI you just aim a browser at that address.
Read how to do that in the KnowledgeBase piece:

Check point 5, "Select AP Mode" and note that you don't need "advanced network experience", just the ability to use a browser.

- flimps1TutorHello, I connected my AC1900 R7000 router with an ethernet cable to the modem-router. The R7000 is now working weirdly by cutting off by time to time. How can I get it to have a more stable connection? Thank you

Its default gateway is probably changed because the ISP modem is using it. Disconnect it from the modem, reboot it, connect your laptop PC to it and then pull up a command prompt and type ipconfig.
That gateway address will be the routers address you can use to log into it and change it to AP modem. Once its changed, you can plug it back into the gateway

- flimps1TutorThank. Managed to get access. Realised it is connected to a VPN so the gateway nr to connect to the router is that of the VPN and through it, not through netgear.
