According to Comcast, AC1600 all in one router (C6250) not compatible with Comcast 4K TV BOX, XG1V4

Hi Folks,

Looking for some ideas or recommendations. I just picked up a Samsung 4K TV. Comcast, is telling me that my all in one router AC1600 (C6250) is not not compatible with Comcast 4K Wi-Fi TV Box, XG1V4. Does this sound right. Looking for thoughts and recommendations.

Thank you
Paul

  • Are you connecting your XG1V4 via wireless? or wired?

And if via wireless are you trying to connect it ot the 2.4ghz or 5ghz?

the XG1V4 shouldn't care what modem it is unless it can't provided the needed speeds.

Thanks for the response. I need to call Comcast back and get specifics of the alleged incompatibility. The agent indicated the Comcast 4K box wireless function would not work with my modem. We did not get around to discussinf using the 2.4ghz or 5ghz? I need to explore that. Thanks for the speeds compatibility consideration. I did not think of that. I will report back.

      Thanks Plemans,

You were right it was a data speed issue. The internet speed offered by Comcast (600Mbps) exceeded the speed capacity of my AC1600 (373Mbps) . Good lesson learned.

      Thank you,

      Paul
