disableing 5g band steering

I need to disable 5g band steering so I can connect tp-link wifii extender.

    No much to go on. Is there a NG product your referring too? 

     

    There's a support site with access to manuals, firmware, install guides, etc.
    Go to https://www.netgear.com/support/
    Type in your model number and from there it'll take you to the above.
    Its a great resource to start with.

    1. You shouldn't need to disable bandsteering to install an extender. Most should install fine with it running. 

    2. what error do you get when you're trying to install the extender? Are you using wps or using their version of the installation assistant? 

    3. If you do want to disable bandsteering, look for the smart connect option in your router. That's netgears bandsteering. (tough to point you to a manual without having a model that you have)
