How can I undo making the original “NETGEAR_EXT” the same name as my home network?

what firmware version is on your EX7000? mesh was a feature added after it was initially released so if you're on early versions of the firmware, you'd need to upgrade.&nbsp;
If you're on the later firmwares, its called "one wifi" and can be enabled/disabled.&nbsp;

It won’t let me connect to mywifiext.local to be able to check

Log into your router. In your router should be an attached devices list (or equivelent).&nbsp;
that'll have the extender's ip address (if you set it up).&nbsp;
Use that to connect/access the extender.&nbsp;
