Internet connection stops working
Hello
Since 2 weeks i'm having problems with my router Nighthawk R7800. The internet connection stops and after a few seconds its working again. Sometimes 3 or 4 times in 5 minutes, sometimes the router works for 3 hours without stopping. I have software version V1.0.2.76. With the previous version I also had this problem.
I bought this router in 2016. Has somebody else also this problem and can it be solved or do i have to buy a new one ?
Thanks for the reply.

Is it only wireless that drops or do both wired and wireless channels drop?
What modem is it connected to?
Have you tried a simple factory reset and clean install(not from backup)? If the firmware changed enough, maybe an old setting is causing issues.
Hello
Both wireless and wired drop. All the white lamps go out, the on/off lamp turns orange. After a few seconds it turns back on. It is connected to a bbox-modem from my proximus provider. I already did a factory reset, but problem stays. I already switched my Netgear router with my Asus router from location. So the cabling is not the problem. Is 4 years a normal life-time for a router?

I would try swapping firmware before calling it.
I'd try installing veresiohn 1.0.2.68 of the firmware. Factory reset it and do a clean install

Yeah, I thought I should look up possible issues. I just upgraded to 1.0.2.76 and I've noticed two PCs that are wired lose access for several seconds randomly. This never happened on the previous firmware. I've seen it happen 4 times since this last Thursday the 5th (today is Saturday the 7th.)

Yeah I just saw it happen again. Flashed it to 1.0.2.74 and we'll see how that goes. I've never had issues like this - 1.0.2.76 is the first time I have repeatedly seen connections broken - and it isn't just with the internet, it's the local network as well. I was watching a movie that is on another machine's hard drive and it froze when this issue occurred.
I will report back after awhile after I see how 1.0.2.74 is and if it fixes this new issue.

Update: .74 no good. Just got DCed locally again. Going to .68 now to test.
What a weird bug - never had this issue before .76 showed up.
