Lan connection LEDs, device names, and LAN connection numbers

Because those devices are not Gigabit/1000M or your device setup and or cable is bad, This info is in the manual regarding LED status

Does it actually say port 2 or is it just the 2nd wired device on list?
3. there are 2 items in the Attached Devices list that do display a name. Can I name them for convenience sake?
I don't have my r8000 online But I think that's done in access control edit.

Ok. My previous replies disapeared. Here we go a third time!
1. I moved the cord and the appliance to different pan ports, and the red leds followed th appliance. Must not be gigabyte because they are all working fine.
2. I am not at home, but I am pretty sure the numbers on the modem are 1-4, but my computer shows them as 4-1. Not a biggie.
3. I wasn't able to rename them on my phone, but was able to do it on my Mac.
