Netgear Nighthawk X10 Router Only 60GHz Light Blinking and Won't Connect to PC

Hi everyone,

I'm having an issue with my Netgear AD7200 Nighthawk X10 router. When I turn it on, only the 60GHz 802.11ad light blinks, and the router doesn’t connect to my PC. I’ve tried resetting it with the reset button, but it didn’t solve the problem. Has anyone experienced this issue or have any advice on what I can try next?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Do you have a connection to the routers web page at 192.168.1.1 with a ethernet connected PC?

Press the reset button for 15 seconds then release then give about 1 minute, should get a web page there.

    Had this router been working?
Any idea of the firmware version loaded on the router?
Had other non NG 3rd party firmware been loaded on it?

Do you have a PC that supports the 60Ghz WiFi AD signal coming from the router?
Not many devices were supporting of 60Ghz and there was limited WiFi adapters that supported 60Ghz.

60Ghz was a complete different spec that was separate from the WiFi N and AC 2.4 and 5Ghz radios.

  • If you find you do not have any devices that can connect to the 60 GHz Wi-Fi band, it would be beneficial to go into the advanced settings and disable the 60 GHz radio.  By leaving it on and not connecting to anything, you are needlessly burning power, generating heat, and polluting the radio frequency environment in your home.
