Netgear R8000 to Netgear unmanaged switch GS316 stopped working after firmware upgrade.
I have a xfinity modem -> nighthawk r8000 router -> Netgear unmanaged switch (GS316) which combo was working fine until last week! Now after the firmware upgrade all WiFi works fine. but the ethernet wired ports connected to the switch stopped working. The ones on the router directly are doing ok. I have one instance where it comes on and dropps off in a few sec. I’ve run a new cat6 cable from my router to the new area and plugged it into a gs316 unmanaged switch. This was working just last week. no changes but now its not working. I have done multiple reboots (all combos) and also tried reinstalling the firmware update but no luck. Please help!
You can try saving a backup configuration and reinstalling that after the reset.
But try the switch after the reset and default configuration. If it works but not after you resetore, then you know you need manually reinstall it and not use the backup.

Do the ethernet leds on the switch turn on when devices are plugged in?
Anytime I have an issue after a firmware upgrade, the first troubleshooting step I take is a factory reset.
If its the only change made, that's where I'd start.

The Leds do light up. They also do on the device. as if its trying to connect and keeps getting disconnected. I have not tried the factory reset cause of the pain to set it up all over again. Is there an easier way to do it and get back all the configs?
