network issues since updating firmware

Recently I updasted the firmware on my router to V1.0.4.76_10.1.82 and since then my wifes laptop connected to LAN, was blocked for some reason, and still have no clue why.  It worked on wifi.  I unblocked it and its sorta worked since, but now we both have been seeing issues where we open a second tab in our browser, Chrome, and then we just get an error page that is not available...but when we hit reload, it works.

Also, I have a game that I play regularly, and never had issues connecting until this latest update.

Is it just me?

What happens if you clear all browser caches, exit and reopen the browser?

Does this happen with a different browser? Firefox or MS Edge?

Try a factory reset and setup from scratch on the router.

In response to furry...It doesnt matter...its not just me, have it happening with multiple computers and multiple browsers.  One thing we have seen is that it is worse on LAN than on Wifi, but the wifi is severly slow.

2 things to try. (try in the order listed)

    1. try enabling IPv6 in the router. Windows is now defaulting to ipv6 first.

    2. if that doesn't help, try downgrading the firmware a version. I've seen that help across multiple product lines with this issue.

I can try enabling IPv6 for sure.  During troubleshooting today my wife downgraded the firmware to the previous version, but so far we are getting similar results.  She has had all sort of issues connecting her games, the one I play will not even launch.

We also did a full factory reset on it today, but I think that was before downgrading the firmware, may be we need to do it again.

So just to try it, I disabled the LAN on my computer and went to wifi, as soon as I did my game which hasnt worked since the update to the firmware is now working in wifi, only on wifi, on LAN I get the same error.

LAN seems to be our biggest issue.

  • Since I updated firmware V1.0.4.76_10.1.82 I have nothing but problems. All of sudden Internet access stopps working, I have been rebooting the router once a day to go back. I have Circle 1 enabled and it keeps creating issues. Everything was working fine until this firmware upgrade. Is there a way to down grade the firmware ?

      yes you can downgrade.

Simple go to the support site for your device and click on downloads. Then click on "view previous versions".

Download the version you want, extract it,  and follow the manual update process but instead of using newer firmware, you use the firmware you downloaded.
