Nighthawk 1750 Internet LED is AMBER - ?

I have recently been experiencing my internet connection going up and down. This router is connected to an Arris cable modem. The ISP says themodem is woring properly. But the internet LED on the router is AMBER . I believe it s/b solid white.

Any suggestions on what I can check?

I have replaced cat5 cables and rebooted both modem and router to no avail.

Naturally cable co says its not there problem.

If its failing when connected directly to the modem, its seeming to indicate a line/modem issue?

Since the router isn't connected.

  the internet lamp on modem is green (normal)
  
  This is an intermittent issue. Naturally the ISP Wow says it's not modem issue.
  up and downstream lights are blue - bonded connections

    how frequently is it happening?
    
    And when it does, the internet light goes amber?
