Nighthawk R6400 - no Internet + password loop

Hello, 

 

I have an Arris Surfboard SB8200 and a NIghthawk R6400v2. 

The Surfboard has Internet and if I connect directly from a modem to my device, my device can access the Interent. 

However, the Nighthawk Internet light is amber. 

I've factory reset the Nighthawk a couple of times. After visiting routerlogin.net, it prompts me to change the admin credentials and set up security questions. I do that, then when I try to log in, the password fails. I answer the security questions, it gives me the same password I was using before, but when I try again it still fails. Since I'm unable to log into the router, there's really no way for me to check its settings/try to update firmware/etc. 

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Did you ever get the router to connect?

      Yes. I can't remember what the fix was honestly. I think the router wasn't actually factory resetting, which I eventually got it to do.
