Nighthawk R6700v3 PPPoE setup for Fidium fiber?

I have new Fidium service but opted to use my Netgear Nighthawk R6700v3 router instead of their router which I understand is pretty locked down. Problem is I can't seem to get internet working over Wifi or Ethernet. I have my PPPoE credentials and the routers says internet service is good but all of the switches > PC's and wireless devices cannot access the internet. We're moving over from Xfinity using a cable modem so maybe there is some setting from that setup I need to clear? Maybe I need the most recent firmware(I am actually using a older version on purpose with Xfinity since a new version, at the time, degraded performance.)
